We need volunteers now more than ever!
The support we offer the local community relies entirely on our volunteers. We always need drivers and duty officers to receive calls and organise our volunteer rotas.
Drivers:
This is a totally flexible volunteering opportunity, we can offer you regular weekly (or monthly) ‘jobs’ or ad hoc, if you prefer that. You can do as little or as much as you wish; one journey a month, or several trips a week; local journeys within the parish boundary or further afield to Guildford, Ashford, Frimley, etc. All expenses are reimbursed.
Duty Officers:
It is the duty officer that is the first point of contact and at the centre of the operation. It is a very interesting, rewarding and worthwhile role. Our duty officers ‘work’ from their own homes and take calls from the Chertsey and Addlestone Good Neighbours ‘unique’ helpline. Again, this can be as frequently as you wish: weekly, monthly, occasionally to cover holidays – you choose your own level of commitment.
Non-Driving Volunteers:
If you can’t drive but would like to volunteer you can help with home visits, local shopping and other administration roles.
We strive to ensure that our volunteers get to know each other and share their experiences through regular coffee mornings and drinks. We also participate in local events including Black Cherry Fare.
